Share
At Parisera, we are passionate about different weaves, the skills that go into them and the weavers who have spent decades honing their skills. Today, we sit down for a conversation with Aditi, a millennial who loves and appreciates traditional crafts and authentic hand-woven sarees.
Where are you from, Aditi?
I was born and brought up in Chennai.
And what do you do?
I am an Analyst at a public health think tank called 'The Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy' in New Delhi.
Where did you study and what?
I got my UG degree in Biotechnology Engineering from SRM University and my Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts.
How old were you when you wore your first saree?
I wore my first saree in 11th grade for a family wedding. Since then, I've fallen in love with sarees!
How often do you wear them now?
Any chance I get!
Can we ask you what you love about wearing sarees?
Sarees radiate a certain warmth and grace that is unmatched by any other attire. They are incredibly fuss-free, feminine, bold and versatile. Most importantly, they are an easy way to sustainable fashion. My mother had a beautiful collection of Kanjivarams that I grew up appreciating. It was a way of life!

How has your experience with Parisera been?
I had a wide smile when I held my first Parisera saree. I loved the feel and quality of the fabric and I would be lying if I said I didn’t try it on immediately. It lived up to my expectations.
What are Your favorite weaves?
I am a sucker for Ikat, breezy cottons and Kanjivarams. I love vibrant colors, geometrics, and intricate detailing. Different weaves for different moods :)
Name three hobbies of yours that you would like to take up when you have the time.
I spend my free time experimenting with food and cooking, catching up with friends and travelling.
