Introducing Meiraas: Founded by Vidhi Agarwal in the year 2015. The Urdu word ‘Meiraas’ means legacy that perfectly suits the Chikan craft and the Indian handloom which is the legacy of this nation. The brand’s ideology is to create unique, innovative and sustainable designs that keep the traditional craft forms alive. Chikan, like most of our handcrafted arts, enjoy a rich heritage and legacy in name, but over the years, constant apathy from consumers and government bodies has led to the craft become very ordinary, compared to what the Nawabi heritage had left us with. The label has begun to recreate and revive some lost and rarely used stitches of Chikankari (only 3 stitches are used vastly, out of 36 different stitches), along with getting the craft practised on reimagined and contemporary silhouettes.

Why we love Meiraas: The Chikankari work in this collection is inspired by the ancient architectural patterns and many more age-old styles. They have revived and recreated designs from the Nawabi period. Also, we find some unique stitches that stands apart from its contemporary brands and their offerings are highly creative and innovative.
