Resplenda has been creating and selling aesthetically driven jewellery and saris for the beauty-conscious women since 2008. Until recently, the products were available only from our single store in Nungambakkam, Chennai and in exhibitions we hold regularly. The designs were getting attention all over the country, and our single store and exhibitions, which were graced by our loving fans (living all over the country), could barely meet their needs. We wanted a way to deliver our products to our trusted patrons present all over the country. Parisera is a direct response to this need. Now, you can buy and savour the beauty of Resplenda products wherever you are in India. We’ll be constantly expanding our reach to include more regions of the world.

Prabodh, Ahalya and You

Prabodh Jain

Prabodh Jain is a co-founder and director with Resplenda Expressions Private Limited. In this role, Prabodh leads a team providing all aspects of strategy, marketing, administration and finance. Resplenda has interests in jewellery design, production and retailing (Rasvihar, Babyrasa) and saris (Sarangi).

Prabodh graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and holds the B.Tech. degree from Anna University (A.C. College of Technology, Chennai).

Prabodh is no stranger to jewellery marketing, having spent 14 years as an advertising, branding and marketing consultant to Nathella Jewellers of Chennai and ANS Jewelry of Salem which taught him the importance of planned, focused and consistent marketing communications. Additionally, he gained a first hand knowledge of retail marketing during his 7 years of consulting engagement with Naidu Hall Naihaa of Chennai.

S. Ahalya

Ahalya, co-founder of Rasvihar, is the hand behind all our creations. She trained the traditional Indian way in dance and fine arts, and is certified by the International Gemmology Institute. All her jewellery is proudly hand-made by master craftsmen; so every piece she designs is authentic and precious, individual and unique.

She uses her extensive knowledge of Indian jewellery as the starting point for her work, which is startlingly original and entirely attuned to evolving global aesthetics.

Ahalya is rooted in tradition, but she’s not bound by it. As she explains: “Classical Indian music, dance, art … all have well-defined structures that lend themselves to endless experimentation.”

“People are my inspiration,” says Ahalya, “so I see no contradiction between my artistic urges and my clients’ needs. All my jewellery is designed with a specific person in mind – not necessarily someone I’ve met. Many times, I’d make jewellery that was inspired by a particular person, and soon enough that same person would walk in and claim the piece for her own.”

Ahalya works within a very precise set of rules, actually; but she feels it liberates her to innovate in a way that resonates with changing times. And that is entirely in keeping with the artistic traditions of India.
