In Gujarat, ‘Dandiya Raas’ is the most popular folk dance that is performed during the evenings of Navaratri after the aarti of goddess Durga. This dance form is the staged representation of the mock fight between Durga Devi and the demon Mahishasura where we can see that the dancers hold the sticks and whirl in complicated but well-choreographed steps. The dancers dance to rhythmic tunes where the Dhol is the main component of the music. The women come dressed up in traditional Ghagra, Choli and Bandhani Dupattas with dazzling jewellery and the men are dressed in the traditional attire like the Kedias with colourful turbans.
We have curated a special collection of Rajkot Patolas and Bandhani saris that truly reflects the colourful landscape of Gujarat.
In eventful dots of Bandhani and the geometrical designs of Patolas, we find the versatility of Gujarat, a land known for celebrating life with music and happiness.
